Satellite navigation
Satellite navigation systems are the next biggest things on thieves' wish-lists. Make sure you're not the next sat-nav victim by reading and following our advice.
- If it's portable, take it with you together with the support cradle and suction pads. Wipe away any marks left by the suction pads as thieves will look out for these
- Don't leave your equipment in the glove compartment – thieves usually check here first
- Buy a sat nav system with anti-theft security features
- Use a security marker to mark your equipment with your postcode and house number
- Make a note of the make, model and serial number of the equipment and keep this information somewhere safe and not in the car. Record this information on one of the commercially available asset registers, such as Immobilise
