Q: I work with young people and know they're concerned about crime. How can I tell them about Crimestoppers?

A. Crimestoppers has a section on the website dedicated to ‘Working with young people', which has some really useful materials. As a professional working with young people, you could promote these materials with colleagues, other youth agencies or young people themselves.

Q. Can my PR agency help Crimestoppers in any way?

A. Yes! Publicity is the lifeblood of Crimestoppers. Your local board will welcome PR skills; anything from campaign ideas to writing the occasional press release. Make contact with your regional Crimestoppers Board.

Q. I'm at the beginning of my career and know my company supports community projects. I'd also like to develop my CV to show social responsibility. Can I do anything for Crimestoppers?

A. Crimestoppers engages with communities to help fight crime - safer communities are good for employees and great for business. You could promote the charity in your workplace. You could also ask your Personnel department if they'd like to help you. Better still, gain your employers support to volunteer on your local Crimestoppers Board where you'll be working with other business people. Crimestoppers' Boards really do welcome people with a variety of skills and backgrounds.

Q. I am near retirement and will soon have more time for community work. Is Crimestoppers for me?

A. Your local Board may be looking for specific help maybe with web/IT, Treasury or as speakers. Both experience and daytime availability is a real asset in some of our work with strategic partners. Have a chat with your local Crimestoppers Board to discuss how you could help them.

Q. I chair a Women's Business Network. How do I find out about Crimestoppers and what can we do to support you?

A.Your Regional Board can arrange to give a presentation to you about our work. There may be particular community initiatives that your group would like to fund, sponsor or provide hands-on help in some way.
