Capgemini's Three Peak Challenge

Capgemini team – Success with the 3 peaks!

On 7th and 8th June 2008 Capgemini, leading business and technology consultants and one of Crimestoppers' Strategic Partners, embarked on a triple mountain marathon climb, completing the challenge in 25 hours and 54 minutes.

The team climbed Ben Nevis in Scotland at 4406ft, Scafell Pike in the Lake District at 3210ft and Snowdon at 3560ft in Wales all in aid of Crimestoppers.

The team had fantastic support from the Crimestoppers regions with Michelle Herd in Scotland arranging for a piper to pipe them up Ben Nevis at the start of their challenge. They then travelled through the night to reach Scafell in the early hours of Sunday morning where John Sidney, the new chairman of the Cumbria board, met them half way up for a photo call and some much needed words of encouragement. The whole team finished the challenge in a great time and have smashed their £5,000 fundraising target, with money still rolling in – they have so far raised just under £9,000 for the charity.

Raising this much money for Crimestoppers in our 20th year of the charity's operation is a fantastic success story. The feat also marks 2008 as Capgemini's third successful year of providing dedicated support to Crimestoppers. Without such support, we wouldn't be able to provide the much needed resources to help the police and the wider community in tackling crime.
