Rizer
Rizer is a website built for young people to get accurate information about the law in a non-judgmental way. It aims to provide an unbiased and non-patronising style of presentation, giving you the opportunity to make your own informed decisions with regards to the law.
Bullying Online
Bullying online gives help and advice to parents and young people, including information about how to tackle bullying, where to find help, what happens if you take legal action and also a helpful section about running a school project around bullying. Take a moment to complete their National Bullying Survey 2006.
Reset
A £6.7m partnership working to change the face of resettlement for young offenders and part funded by the European Social Fund, under the Equal initiative. It's led by the young people's charity, Rainer and has over 50 partners including Government agencies and voluntary organisations.
The Site
This website is designed specifically for young people. It provides information and facts about important decisions they have to make about sex, relationships, careers, money, health, drugs, rights and housing. There is also an ‘ask a question' section where people over 16 can ask for information via e-mail and will be answered by one of the website's advisors.
There 4 Me
This site is for all 12 – 16 year olds living in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel islands. There is on screen advice about bullying, relationships, exams, drugs and difficulties at home. There is also a facility to send an e-letter to Sam, their agony aunt.
Teenage Health Freak
This website aims to provide accurate and reliable health information to teenagers in a contemporary, entertaining and informative way. Dr Ann McPherson and Aiden McFarlane, writers of the original Diary of a Teenage Health Freak series, have created this site to address issues such as bullying and sexually transmitted diseases.
Youth 2 Youth
Y2Y is a unique helpline service run by young people for young people. The helpline staff are all young people themselves who have been specifically trained to help. The helpline is for any young person under the age of 19 years who feels they need emotional support. Young people worried or confused or who just need to talk can call their trained volunteers by telephone or e-mail or on-line chat. All calls are treated confidentially. Tel 020 8896 3675
It's Not Your Fault
Its Not Your Fault offers advice to both parents and young people going through divorce in the family. The website has been produced by NCH one of the leading children's charities. NCH offers support to children and families in situations of divorce and separation before, during and after the event. Think U Know The website has been designed to help young people stay safe whilst surfing the internet. This interactive site uses games and animations to guide young people through all the safety aspects of using the internet.
Suzy Lamplugh Trust
The Suzy Lamplugh Trust, a registered charity, is the leading authority on personal safety. Its role is to minimise the damage caused to individuals and to society by aggression in all its forms – physical, verbal and psychological. The Trust's emphasis is on the reduction of crime and violence against individuals, with a particular focus on the workplace, transport, schools and the most vulnerable.
Victim Support
Victim Support is the national charity for people affected by crime. It is completely independent organisation, offering a free and confidential service, irrespective of whether or not a crime has been reported. Help is provided by a network of local schemes across the UK. Staff and volunteers provide emotional support, information and practical help to people who have suffered the effects of crime ranging from burglary to the murder of a relative.
ChildLine 0800 1111
ChildLine is the free, 24-hour helpline for children and young people in the UK. Young people can call 0800 1111 about any problem, at any time – day or night. ChildLine's counsellors are there to help you find ways to sort things out. ChildLine is confidential - they won't tell anyone about your call unless you want ChildLine to talk to somebody for you or if you are in danger. The website has information for young people on issues ranging from bullying to homelessness and free materials for teachers.
Connexions
Connexions offers a range of guidance and support for 13 – 19 year olds to help make the transition to adult life a smooth one. The service aims to provide integrated advice, guidance and access to personal development opportunities for this group. The success of Connexions depends on the involvement of young people – listening to and taking account of their views in the design and delivery of Connexions will be essential. Website also has pages for those aged 13 – 19.??
Samaritans
Samaritans is available 24 hours a day to provide confidential emotional support for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which may lead to suicide.
Directgov
The young people's section on Directgov has sections dedicated to health, crime, money, work and careers, as well as a Youth Funds section, which explains how young people can get money from their local authority to create better leisure facilities in their own area.
