What do we do with your information?
Once you've called Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, or via our anonymous online Giving Information Form, we create a report that brings together all the information you told us.
Our call handlers will check that the report contains no information that might identify you.
The report is sent to the relevant authority, who will deal with the information. This could be your local police force or an agency such as Customs or Immigration.
They have the legal responsibility to investigate crimes, make arrests and charge people in order to bring them to justice.
Most Wanted criminals
The Most Wanted section of our website contains appeals for information about people being looked for by the authorities.
At the moment, there are Most Wanted 144 appeals on our website.
If you know any information about these Most Wanted criminals, you can tell us by either calling 0800 555 111 anonymously, or filling out our anonymous online Giving Information Form. It helps if you have the appeal reference number, beginning 'CS', when you call.
Give information online
As well as calling us anonymously on 0800 555 111, you can also give information anonymously online.
The information will be sent to us over a secure internet connection which makes sure that you, and your computer, cannot be traced.
Our call handlers read what you have sent us and will take out any information that might identify you, before forwarding it to the relevant authorities.
