Disqualified and Uninsured Drivers
Information was received by Crimestoppers that a person had been driving for many years and had never past their driving test. Officers stopped the vehicle that had been identified and the driver was found to be driving with only a provisional licence and without insurance.
October 2010
Drug Manufacture and Cultivation
Cannabis cultivation site was raided and drugs estimated to be valued in excess of £200,000 were seized.
Drug Trafficking and Supply
Information received via Crimestoppers that a person was dealing cocaine at his place of work. It was suggested that he was keeping the drugs in his vehicle. The person was stopped in his car and a small amount of cannabis and a knife were found. The person received a fixed penalty notice.
Drug Manufacture and Cultivation
A call to Crimestoppers gave the location of a possible cannabis farm. This information proved to be accurate as the police discovered & seized over £100,000 of plants when they traded the address given.
Vehicle crime
Information received via Crimestoppers that a vehicle had been parked on a named road for about a week. It was stated that it did not belong to any of the residents and had been moved to a different named road overnight. Checks were conducted on the vehicle which revealed it to have been stolen within the last month. Police were able to recover the vehicle which was worth almost £5,000.
July 2010
Robbery/Burglary/Theft
A call was received by Crimestoppers which provided a possible name for a suspect wanted for street robberies. Following an investigation, police arrested the male concerned and charged him with two street robberies as well as two burglary dwelling and a theft.
February 2010
Rape & Sexual Offences/Possession of Weapons
A Crimestoppers caller reported that there were two prostitutes at an address who were being kept against their will. The caller also stated that there were several men at the address, one of whom was in possession of a firearm. A warrant was executed at the address and one prostitute was found. One man at the property was arrested for causing prostitution for gain and was subsequently cautioned for the offence. Imitation weapons were also seized from the premises.
January 2010
Drink driving
An anonymous call was received giving information and detailed times of the movements of a drink driver. When the police stopped the vehicle identified in the Crimestoppers call, the driver blew positive when a breath-test was carried and was immediatively arrested & charged.
November 2009
Drink driving
A caller rang Crimestoppers about a persistent/regular drinker-driver. Using the detailed information supplied by Crimestoppers about the vehicle/the driver & the likely route, the car was stopped and the driver was later disqualified from driving.
Theft
Crimestoppers received detailed about the whereabouts of somebody suspected of involvement in a number of thefts. Using this information, the police were able to ‘find their man' who was charged with three theft offences.

Trading Standards uncover counterfeit DVDs
Acting on information provided by Crimestoppers, Trading Standards assisted by the police searched a given address where they seized over 1,000 master disks (used to produce counterfeit DVDs/CDs) and associated computer equipment.
Football fan clash avoided
Following a call to Crimestoppers, police were able to forestall a clash between rival football fans. Visiting fans were stopped on their way to the match and three were arrested.
Assault on pensioner
A caller rang Crimestoppers with the name of the person allegedly responsible for an assault on a pensioner. The police investigated the matter and arrested the named individual, who was charged with causing grievous bodily harm.
