Community partners
We can no longer expect the police to tackle crime alone. Crimestoppers can offer help too, to reduce crime further. We work in partnership and we want to work with you in your community.
The charity and its volunteer supporters raise funds in order to promote the anonymous Crimestoppers phone number, 0800 555 111, to the public, to encourage more calls with information about crime. Working with a wide range of local organisations, Crimestoppers can help to identify and address the specific problems in your community. Our community partners include businesses, schools, crime reduction partnerships, the fire service, housing associations, councils, churches, youth groups, sports clubs and other local organisations concerned about crime.
To use Crimestoppers, people must know what it is and what they have to do to give information about crime anonymously. It's likely there's something going on near you to promote Crimestoppers. Have a look in your area to see what's going on, and how you could get involved.
Organisations such as local councils, community groups, shops, schools and offices can help to publicise Crimestoppers in a variety of ways such as displaying posters, distributing leaflets and organising meetings. Crimestoppers has a range of publicity material ready for use in your community. If you can help spread the word about Crimestoppers, please contact us.
There are also many different partnerships aiming to reduce and prevent crime, such as Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships, Community Safety Partnerships, etc. Whatever your group, Crimestoppers can help.
If you are looking to reduce crime and the fear of crime in your area, you may be able to include the Crimestoppers logo and phone number on your promotional materials and within your Community Safety Strategy.
We can also work with you to develop unique campaigns that specifically address the crime issues that your area faces. Projects are developed with you to help achieve your targets and managed by a dedicated member of the Crimestoppers team. All projects are evaluated in order to assess their impact. Calls and resulting arrests through Crimestoppers are often a key indicator of success.
Crimestoppers also works with a range of partners on national campaigns, helping to address issues that affect many of our communities. These include issues such as human trafficking, metal theft, and knife crime to mention a few. More details on some of our current campaigns and activities are in Making Communities Safer.
