Guernsey Crimestoppers “Big Breakfast”
In November 2007 Guernsey Crimestoppers invited many of the Island's dignitaries and business executives to a breakfast at the Fermain Valley Hotel in the parish of St Martins.
Detective Superintendent Tim Smith from Kent Police gave a powerpoint presentation of the “Securitas” armed robbery in Tonbridge, including some CCTV images.
More than £50million in cash was stolen during this incident and it's fair to say that the audience were captivated with the presentation and the professionalism of Kent Police officers involved in the investigation. As the offence is still “live”, much could not be discussed, but at the conclusion of the presentation, those present agreed that a further presentation should be arranged at the conclusion of the court proceedings.
The object of the morning was to impress upon the audience the importance of Crimestoppers in the community and many links were formed and offers of support received.
