Crimestoppers raise a glass to ten years of fighting crime
Nottinghamshire Crimestoppers and Castle Rock Brewery have joined forces to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Crimestoppers in the county, with Castle Rock brewing a special beer specifically for the occasion, appropriately named ‘Most Wanted'.
The beer was launched at the Keans Head Public House on St Mary's Gate, Nottingham, at midday on Thursday 29th May. A percentage of sales will go to Crimestoppers as part of the fundraising activity that is taking place during the anniversary celebrations. This activity will continue on Friday 6th June with the ‘Lock Up Your Boss' night, when Nottinghamshire Crimestoppers is giving employees across the county the chance to put their bosses behind bars at Nottingham's Galleries of Justice to raise money for the charity.
Andrew Bailey, chair of Nottinghamshire Crimestoppers, said: “Crimestoppers in Nottinghamshire has come a long way in the past ten years and the number of arrests that come about as a result of calls to Crimestoppers continues to rise. The launch of the ‘Most Wanted' beer is a fine way mark the anniversary and I'd like to thank Castle Rock Brewery for their help and support in creating this special brew! I hope the public enjoy it, but remember to drink sensibly and not to drink and drive. The beer has been named after the ‘Most Wanted' TV slot that airs monthly on BBC East Midlands, as well as the section on the Crimestoppers website, and we're hoping the name of the beer will encourage people to contact Crimestoppers with information about crime. We would also like to thank the BBC for giving us the opportunity to highlight wanted criminals and appeal for information, but most of all we would like to thank the public for their continued help. Without them, Nottinghamshire Crimestoppers simply would not work and I would urge anyone with any information about a crime to call us anonymously on 0800 555111.”
Colin Wilde, commercial director at Castle Rock Brewery, said: “We're delighted to get involved with the tenth anniversary of Crimestoppers in Nottinghamshire. Coincidentally, it is also the tenth anniversary of the Castle Rock Brewery, and both ourselves and Crimestoppers have seen tremendous growth and development. This beer is a celebration of those achievements, and will hopefully be a stepping stone for another ten years of success and beyond.”
