Drug seizure
Following anonymous information received on the Crimestoppers phone number, 0800 555 111, Crimestoppers passed on information about drug trafficking to the Nottinghamshire Police.
Local officers carried out a warrant at a house in Bestwood and recovered more than 40 kilos of amphetamines, with an estimated street value of £400,000.
A 26-year-old woman was arrested and charged with drug trafficking.
Chief Inspector Mick Windmill-Jones, based at Oxclose Lane police station, said: “This seizure demonstrates yet again the value of information provided by people living within our communities. Calls like this make a difference in the fight against crime and show that we do act on intelligence that is received, whether anonymously or by reporting it directly to the police.
“Had such a large amount of drugs heading for the streets of Nottingham not been seized, they would have had a major impact on the community.”
