How you can help

Our Crimestoppers Board comprises of approximately 12 members of the community, who give up their free time to coordinate promotions and events to raise awareness of the Crimestoppers phone number. We rely on a network of volunteers to help us with our work.

Greater Manchester Crimestoppers is championing the fight against crime, and we need your help. We're seeking local volunteers across all geographical areas in Greater Manchester to help with crime reduction campaigns to help get our message across, which is that people can call 0800 555 111 with anonymous information about crime.

We need your work and life skills to help promote the Crimestoppers cause. If you are enthusiastic, a great talker and good at getting a particular message across – then you are just what we need!

Crimestoppers is not part of the police, it's a registered charity, independent from the police, and relying on donations. We are looking for people who have something to offer. You may be able to spare some time in your busy working lives, and feel you want to put something back into the community. That could include helping with printing posters and promotions, giving a talk on Crimestoppers' work to local schoolchildren, or just using your know-how to help spread the word!

We have a wide range of different ways you can get involved – from using your wealth of experience, contacts and skills on the Volunteer Board of Greater Manchester Crimestoppers; or being involved in Board sub-groups specialising in fundraising, marketing, events, community affairs and police liaison. We are also establishing a Greater Manchester Crimestoppers Community Champion Scheme, perfect for people who have time and energy to commit to Crimestoppers and have a good local knowledge of the local community, and are ready to champion the fight against crime in their area! Finally, if you are a company, you may want to use your influence and connections and join our Greater Manchester Crimestoppers Beneficiaries scheme.

Anyone who would like to know more about the rewarding work of becoming a volunteer please fill out our Volunteer Enquiry Form.
