Competition for young people in Lancashire
Lancashire Crimestoppers is looking for school pupils in the county to help them get their message across to younger members of the community.
We're inviting pupils in secondary schools to design and produce a poster, leaflet or media clip which will help get Crimestoppers' message over to young people.
The aim of the competition is to design and produce:
- A poster (A4 sized); or
- A leaflet; or
- A media clip highlighting the role of Crimestoppers.
Here are a few tips to help you:
- Entries should be targeted at young people (ages 11-16). Graphics and wording used in the poster should be suitable for display in public buildings or broadcast across a variety of media
- There are three prizes (one for each of the categories – poster, leaflet, media clip) of vouchers to the value £250 and these will be awarded to the individual or group or class whose entry in that category clearly highlights the role of Crimestoppers
- The winning entry will be used as part of the Lancashire Board's 2008/9 publicity campaign and distributed to secondary schools throughout Lancashire as well as across the county
Chair of the Lancashire Crimestoppers Board, Mrs Gail Porter, said: “We want to make use of the tremendous ideas and imagination of younger members of our community to help our charity.
“We'd like youngsters to emphasise the part we have in fighting crime by promoting the anonymous Crimestoppers phone number 0800 555 111, the fact that we raise funds, we support organisations and individuals who want to promote Crimestoppers and authorise the payment of rewards to people whose calls lead to a conviction in the courts.
"As well as being an important awareness campaign, the winners may even get to see your work splashed across buildings in Lancashire or even shown on newspapers, TV and the internet.''
Entries should be submitted on A4- sized paper or CD and sent to:
