Statistics
The success of Crimestoppers in Lancashire is reflected in the continuing improvement in performance that has been enjoyed in recent years.
The number of actionable calls about Lancashire received through Crimestoppers has steadily increased month on month over the last two years.
- As an example, we had 206 actionable calls in August 2005. In August 2007, the number of actionable calls increased to 310
- Similarly, there were 21 arrests resulting from information received by Crimestoppers in August 2005. In August 2007, this had risen to 43 arrests
These impressive statistics reflect the determination of the Lancashire Crimestoppers volunteer Board in promoting the anonymous Crimestoppers telephone number, 0800 555 111. The conversion rate of telephone calls converting into arrests has also improved dramatically.
- From 10% in 2005, there is now a 23.4% conversion rate in Lancashire. Nationally the conversion rate is 9.1%, placing Lancashire Crimestoppers Board at the top for the UK
These statistics are impressive; however behind them there is the tangible impact in communities through increased confidence and engagement with the Constabulary. The Crimestoppers volunteer Board in Lancashire have been a significant influencing factor in achieving this success through their commitment to raising the charity's profile in the county and dedicating their time and energy to working in partnership with the Constabulary.
