Students launch Fearless film tackling cyber-bullying

Students at Accrington Academy, Lancashire, have launched a film which tackles the issue of cyber-bullying and educates young people about how they can go to Fearless.org for information about cyber-crime [10 February 2012].

Young people can also use Fearless.org to give information anonymously about cyber-crime or any other crime type.

Fearless.org is the website for Fearless, the youth brand of crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers, which allows members of the public to pass on information about crime anonymously through the 24/7 hotline 0800 555 111 or via the Crimestoppers website.

Winning entry

Accrington Academy was selected to launch Fearless in Lancashire in April last year.

Students were visited on the launch day by members of the Fearless team, who held workshops and spoke with students about their own personal experiences of crime and how it had affected their lives and the lives of the people around them.

A session was also held in which students were encouraged to create a crime advert by writing a script or developing a story board.

The winning entry was then made into a film clip which has been revealed today, entitled 'Fearless Against Cyberbullying.'
