James Bond joins Crimestoppers

In September, 260 guests helped to raise over £8,000 for the charity Crimetoppers in Merseyside.

They enjoyed a James Bond themed night at The Liner Hotel, hosted by Coronation Street's 'Jerry', AKA well known local actor Michael Starke. Our guest of honour wasTim Craig, father of James Bond Actor Daniel Craig, who supplied autographed items for the charity auction. Daniel Craig, who was filming in Lithuania at the time, sent a signed photo dedicated to Crimestoppers, as well as '007' posters for the auction. Music was provided by famous Merseyside band from the '60s, "The Swinging Blue Jeans".

Chief Constable Bernard Hogan-Howe, Pauline Wyeth and Mike Wyeth, Merseyside Crimestoppers ChairmanChief Constable, Bernard Hogan-Howe who attended the event and bid strongly for several coveted items in the charity auction, praised the word of Crimestoppers in helping to solve crimes by providing a conduit for people to provide information and remain anonymous. He also offered his gratitude for Merseyside Crimestoppers' support in the Rhys Jones murder investigation.

Organiser, Peter Jones of Liverpool Chamber's Business Crime Direct Team said: "This was an incredibly successful evening which has helped to raise the profile of Crimestoppers and bring in funds for this vitally important charity."
