Crimestoppers runs awareness raising campaign in Fife
Scotland Crimestoppers is working with Fife Constabulary to raise awareness of the charity's invaluable service in Fife. [1 June 2010]
From Tuesday 1 June, the Cowdenbeath Area in Fife will pilot a Crimestoppers awareness raising
campaign. Publicity posters will be placed in shops and post offices and Community
Staff will distribute Crimestoppers leaflets in busy areas such as High Street.
Calling cards will also be given out by staff during the course of their patrol.
Crimestoppers is a safe way for the public to pass on information about crime or criminals anonymously. When the public fear contacting the police will lead to reprisals, calling 0800 555 111 with information is an ideal solution. Crimestoppers passes actionable information from the public to the police. Nobody will ever ask the callers name and calls cannot be traced. Information can also be given anonymously using the Crimestoppers online giving information form.
The Fife Constabulary website features an article asking the public to pass on knowledge about crime and criminals via Crimestoppers.
