Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Communities

We've been making some excellent links with BME communities in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. We've recently been targeting Portugese, Nepalese and Polish communities in the region.

Hamid Samiy joined the Hampshire Board during the year and has been a valuable link with the Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Communities in the county.

The work we've done so far includes a programme on Unity 101FM in Southampton. We've also produced materials for the Portuguese employees of Vitacress in Central Hampshire, the Nepalese community in Rushmoor. We secured the lead article in the Polski Kurier, which provided information about what Crimestoppers does, for Southampton's growing Polish Community.
