Crimestoppers offers reward to catch grandmother's murderer

Crimestoppers is offering a reward of £1,000, for information that leads to an arrest in Operation Columbian - the investigation into the murder of Georgina Edmunds in Brambridge, near Winchester, on 11th January.

"The value of this reward could be increased," says Simon Theobalds, Crimestoppers' project co-ordinator in Hampshire. " We would be happy to to used as the channel for whatever money might be offered by other parties. As a charity we have limited resources, but £1,000 is the minimum we pay if a caller wishes to claim it after they've helped lead to an arrest for murder."

77 year old Mrs Edmunds was discovered in her cottage at Brambridge by her son on the evening of Friday 11th January.

Hampshire Police have since released CCTV footage of a figure in high visibility protective clothing, trying to use her bank card that same night, at a cash machine at Tesco Express in Twyford Road in Easteigh - only a few miles away from the murder scene.

250 police officers are working on the case.
