Explanatation of statistics:
Each month, calls about crime in Hampshire and the IOW are published. They are broken down geographically, by crime type and by the result of the call – referred to as 'Disposal'.
Figures are shown by the month and the cumulative figure for the year. Information from the previous year can be found in the annual report.
The anonymity which protects callers means that the origin of the call is unknown, the geographical breakdown relates to the crime or criminal referred to in the call.
The two counties are split into Hampshire Constabulary's six Operation Command Units (OCUs). These are co-terminus with the structure of local authorities.
They are:
- OCU Fareham, Gosport, Havant and Winchester Councils
- OCU The Isle of Wight Council
- OCU Rushmoor, East Hampshire, Hart and Basingstoke Councils
- OCU Portsmouth City Council
- OCU Southampton City Council
- OCU Test Valley, East Leigh and New Forest Councils
Each OCU is subdivided into police sectors which also relate to local, authority boundaries. The two-letter code is used by the police for reference.
