Saw it Tel. it

Time to Tel. it like it is!

We were out in force on a busy Saturday in Woking Town Centre at the end of last year, promoting the 0800 555 111 number to all shoppers and visitors.

Surrey Crimestoppers 'saw it tel it' campaignWe handed out balloons, bags, fridge magnets, postcards and leaflets to shoppers and businesses in the Peacocks Shopping Centre and Wolsey Place Shopping Centre.

Our aim was to spread the message of the 'Saw It Tel. It' campaign to the shoppers in Woking and encourage the use of our 0800 555 111 number to pass on information about crime anonymously.

Anthony Gilsenan from Surrey Crimestoppers said: "The day went very well. Our volunteers had tremendous support from shops and traders, many of whom took the postcards and balloons and displayed them for the day.

He went on to say: "We gave out 1,000 helium balloons, so it was a good response from members of the public."

Tony Parrott, Wolsey Place Operations Manager, said: "I want everyone to know that Wolsey Place supports Surrey Crimestoppers. We do not tolerate any crime in the centre and we want to create the safest environment possible to help protect our customers."

Surrey Crimestoppers works with Surrey Neighbourhood Watch and as part of Neighbourhood Watch Week, we also had Rodney Amor, Surrey Chairman, helping us on the day and handing out Neighbourhood Watch material. In the afternoon, we were joined by Woking Fire Service, who gave out leaflets on Arson Alert and advice on smoke alarms and reducing the risk of fire in your home.

We want to thank Tim Keeping, the Peacocks Centre Manager, and Richard Wheeler, the Wolsey Place Manager, for their support and in particular allowing us to flood their shopping centres with our materials, especially the balloons.
