  Of the 100,000 criminals arrested and charged across the UK because of the anonymous information passed to Crimestoppers since it was formed in 1988, 8,800 have been from the South East of England, the crime fighting charity has announced today. [5 July 2010]

• Sussex's greatest to be jailed for Crimestoppers

  Sussex Crimestoppers and the atmospheric Old Police Cells Museum, the museum of Sussex Police located below Brighton Town Hall, are joining together to hold a major fundraising event on 10 February. Peter James, co-patron of Sussex Crimestoppers is being jailed as part of the event.

• Help solve a Sussex murder

  On 11 October 1991, the headless and armless body of a man was found by a member of the public in undergrowth in Broxmead Lane, Bolney, West Sussex. The victim was never identified and the case remains unsolved. This year, the body was exhumed so that forensic techniques that were unavailable in 1991 could be used. As a result, a fresh appeal for information has been launched. [13 November 2009]
