Crimestoppers National Conference 2008
The Crimestoppers National Conference was successfully held in Plymouth on Thursday 30 October.
On the night of the 29th, guests enjoyed a superb evening of entertainment provided by the Plymouth Raiders basketball team and hosted by Plymouth City Council.
Then, with the sound of cheerleaders and “We Will Rock You” still ringing in their ears, the delegates undertook a jam-packed but rewarding conference day. Speakers included Martin Brunt from Sky News, representatives from the Metropolitan Police Service and SOCA, and community worker Kosher Osei-Yaw.
The delegates also had work to do, getting involved in three workshops relating to fundraising, messages and campaigns and working with local neighbourhood policing teams.
At the conference dinner the annual Crimestoppers Volunteer Award was presented to David Green from Hertfordshire for his fantastic efforts over the past few years in promoting the charity's much needed message to the young people of his county.
The night was closed by the Band of the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
Crimestoppers would like to thank all of the speakers, volunteers from Devon & Cornwall and staff who helped to make the event such a great success.
