SNAP Discos

A group of young people in Dorchester approached our volunteer Chairman, Richard Daubeney, because they wanted to hold a disco night in a safe environment free from alcohol and drugs.

After considerable research we decided that, whilst the SNAP concept was not new, it had never been tried before in Dorset. We managed to raise £3,000 from local organisations to run the night.

Thanks to the West Dorset District Council and the young people from Dorchester, young people from the surrounding area enjoyed a superb disco evening in the Old Firestation Night Club in Dorchester.

To date, we've held 3 discos that have been attended by over 400 young people. No problems have been experienced and the help of Crimestoppers has been much appreciated.
