Tackling vehicle crime
The conference looked at new developments aimed at cutting car, van and motorcycle crime in the country.
The conference was organised by the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators (IAATI) and was supported by the Warwickshire Crimestoppers Board, with a stand at the conference.
Warwickshire Crimestoppers displayed a range of literature for delegates attending the national conference, including advice on Sat Nav safety, which was supported by the television personality, Quentin Willson. There was also a live demonstration of a 'Talking Sign', with a P.I.R activated sign advising on removing valuables to reduce vehicle-related crime.
John Rennie, Chairman of the Warwickshire Crimestoppers Board said: "In many instances, criminals need vehicles to commit crime. Crimestoppers, which is a national charity, offers the public the opportunity to pass on information relating to a range of criminal activity, including vehicle crime that they want to share, but feel at risk from retribution or are simply reluctant to pass onto the authorities".
Mr Rennie added: "The Crimestoppers number, 0800 555 111, offers the public the opportunity to pass on information with complete anonymity".
