Assistant Chief Constable Bill Holland said: "This is a fantastic learning tool to help promote personal safety and a responsible attitude to life. In addition, teachers and parents can utilise the site and present information to children in a fun and informative way, without dictating how youngsters should behave."
Marion Davis, Strategic Director for Children, Young People and Families at Warwickshire County Council, said: "Safety issues for children and young people of all ages are very important, and it is important that we explore every avenue of getting these messages to the people who need them most. This new website will complement existing advice and reinforce the lessons that Warwickshire children and young people are taught at home and in school, about issues such as stranger danger, bullying, road safety and mobile phone safety. TheZone promises to become a useful and well-used resource."
Crimestoppers became an official partner of the website in 2006, providing information on how young people can help Crimestoppers fight crime. At the end of 2007, Warwickshire County Council have now signed up to TheZone website making the site the young persons website within Warwickshire.
