Our plans

Business plan of West Midlands Crimestoppers Board 2008/9

Aim

To promote the work of Crimestoppers as widely as possible in the West Midlands in order to increase the number of actionable telephone calls.

This is the main aim of the Board, but for this to be achieved there are further, subsidiary objectives that will help to achieve our aim.

Objectives

  1. Develop a strong Board. In order that the work of Crimestoppers can be promoted, we need members from all the areas which the Board covers. We therefore need to recruit Board members from areas that are not currently represented on the Board. We will also need to ensure that the Board reflects the community in terms of race, gender and age.
  2. Increase the number of actionable calls to Crimestoppers in the West Midlands. Increasing the number of calls to Crimestoppers relies on the logo and telephone number being continuously displayed throughout the Board's area. The marketing strategy would be the driving force behind this objective and could include: Developing an integrated approach covering all relevant partnerships such as Neighbourhood Watch schemes, Crime Prevention Panels, PCCG, School Liaison Officers etc; run specific Crimestoppers campaigns; make presentations to relevant and interested parties; ensure that there is enough publicity material with the Crimestoppers logo and telephone number printed on.
  3. Ensure sufficient funds are available to continue to promote Crimestoppers and to pay rewards. In order that the Board can do its work effectively sufficient funds are required. The Board needs to raise funds to ensure that we can meet the objectives agreed by the Board. There are numerous methods of fundraising that the Board will pursue.

Summary

The main aim of the Board is as stated above. In order to achieve that aim further, objectives must be met. These have been detailed above. If any member of the Board believes that there are any major objectives that have been missed then these will be taken into account.
