Shannon's mother remains in custody

Karen Matthews stayed in police custody overnight as police continue to question her about her daughter's disappearance.

The 32-year old mother of seven was arrested on Sunday evening on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

There are unconfirmed suggestons that she may have known more about her daughter's disappearance than she told the police.
