Sword house siege ends

A siege at a house in Nottinghamshire has ended after 33 hours, after a man believed to be armed with a sword held a family hostage.

A man, woman and child were allegedly taken hostage on Sunday morning. Police were called to the scene in Lindrick, near Worksop, where nearby houses were evacuated.

The 45-year old man who was holding the family hostage left the house voluntarily at 6.20pm on Monday.
