Warning on Shannon Matthews' estate

[10th April 2008]

Leaflets have been distributed in Dewsbury Moor to warn residents not to take the law into their own hands, following Shannon Matthews alleged abduction.

Shannon's mother, Karen Matthews, has been remanded in custody until 16th April, following charges of child neglect and perverting the course of justice in connection with the disappearance of her daughter. The family's house was boarded up yesterday.

The leaflet says: "Please do not take the law into your own hands and leave the police to do their job."
