Man held after boy found injured in Mansfield

A man has been arrested after a four-year-old boy was found in the street in Mansfield suffering from serious injuries. [10 April 2012]

Nottinghamshire Police said the child was undergoing treatment at Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre after being found injured in Mansfield at about 1.30pm on Monday.

A police spokesman said a 51-year-old man had been arrested and also confirmed that the boy's relatives were with him at the hospital.

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
