CCTV released after double murder
[14 August 2008]
CCTV images have been released of the last known movements of a woman who was murdered with her boyfriend in their Newcastle flat.
Xi Zhou and Zhen Xing Yang, both 25, died after a knife attack that has been described as 'frenzied'. The CCTV images released by police, show Miss Xi on a bus and walking towards her flat. Detectives have brought in an offender profiler to try to establish a motive for the murders. Officers are also appealing to Mr Zhen's best friend, Fan Zhang, to come forward. Police have said that Mr Zhen had been assaulted for more than an hour before being stabbed, and say that passers-by may have heard his screams. A cat's body was found hidden under a sink in the flat, and may provide clues into the motive for murder.
