Football clubs should pay for police

Football clubs should pay all the costs of policing matches, according to the Association of Chief Police Officers.
Currently, clubs only have to pay back policing costs incurred on their property, while the rest comes out of policing budgets. In effect, local communities are subsidising the clubs. For 13 Premier League clubs, policing cost £7.5million. The clubs paid £4.3million of this, while the remaining £3.2million came from police budgets.
