Man charged with teen's murder

A 30-year old man has been charged with the fatal stabbing of a 17-year old teenager last week.
Steven Braithwaite, a homeless labourer, will appear before Sutton Magistrates' Court today. He stabbed Nilanthan Murddi to death in Croydon in the early hours of Saturday morning. Nilanthan became the 23rd teenager to be murdered in London this year. He had been studying for his A-Levels, but left to help his family's restaurant by working as a waiter.
