Security to be reviewed at psychiatric hospital

A secure unit will be reviewed following the recapture of two mental health patients who were on the run for 24 hours.

Jason Lord, 23, and Terry Powell, 35, escaped from Langdon Hospital in Dawlish on Tuesday night. The pair were arrested 90 miles away in Newlyn, Cornwall. Lord is a paranoid schizophrenic who tried to stab a police officer with a samurai sword. He was detained indefinitely last year under the Mental Health Act.
