Honorary powers to increase

Jersey's Honorary Police may be given more power to respond to cross-parish emergencies.

Officers currently don't have any powers outside of their own parish, but constables want the rules to change so they have more flexibility. If these new powers are put into place, honorary officers would be able to act if they see crimes in another parish. It would also mean that anyone caught committing the same crime in a number of parishes, e.g. speeding around the island, would be dealt with in just one parish hall.
