Lime-filled pits found at Jersey children's home
[17th April 2008]
Police are appealing for information about two pits which have been found at the back of the Jersey children's home Haut de la Garenne.
One of the pits had been filled with a large quantity of lime.
The discovery was made after a man has come forward, saying that he was called to Haut de la Garenne sometime between the late 1970s and mid 1980s to dig two pits. When he asked staff what the pits were for, he was told it was none of his concern.
