Two arrests over post office robbery

Two men, aged 37 and 31, have been arrested following a robbery at a Warwickshire post office [22 December 2011]

Two masked men stole an unknown quantity of money from the Post office store in new Street at around 12:40 GMT on Tuesday.

Police believe the pair fled the scene by forcing their way into a red Skoda Felicia that crashed in Waste lane, Atherstone, shortly afterwards.

The driver suffered minor injuries and has since been released from hospital.

Both men were arrested in separate locations are undergoing treatment in hospital.

Warwickshire Police are appealing for anyone who saw the car "being driven between Baddesley Ensor and Waste Lane, Atherstone and anyone who saw a male, described as wearing dark clothing, and walking with difficulty in the area of Waste Lane, Atherstone".

"Police are also appealing for anyone who saw a small sliver coloured Kia being driven around Baddesley during the morning to also contact them," a force statement added.
