Brothers jailed for parking row pensioner death
[4th April 2008]
Two brothers have been jailed after an argument about a parking space led to the death of a Derby pensioner, aged 79.
The victim, Bernard Gilbert, died moments after a brick was thrown into his home in Spondon in January 2007.
Gilbert and 26-year old Zoe Forbes had a row in an Asda car park over a parking space. Forbes' husband, Mark Forbes, went on to plot revenge. He found-out the pensioner's address through a then-serving police officer. The officer, PC Stephen Smith, has since resigned and was fined £1,200 under the Data Protection Act.
Forbes has been sentenced to three years in jail and his younger brother just over two years.
