Rural drinkers targeted

Lincolnshire Police are cracking down on rural motorists who ignore drink-driving laws.

Referred to as ‘Operation Scope', police want to fight the perception that driving under the influence of alcohol is less serious than other crimes, in areas such as Boston and Spalding. They have already taken action to promoting their operation with leaflets explaining the law in six languages as well as police officers patrolling hotspots.
