London taxi driver faces rape charges

A 50-year old London taxi driver who told women he was a lottery-winner will face rape charges, after a number of victims came forward claiming that he had given them date rape drugs and assaulted them.

John Worboys, who lives in Rotherhithe, was charged with rape, sexual assault and administering a substance with intent.

Five women initially came forward after getting in his taxi in Oxford Street, Kings Road and London Bridge. Following appeals, a further 30 women have come forward about the taxi driver.
