New anti-extremist strategy

[28th February 2008]

After a counter-terrorism conference this week, a strategy has been approved to help prevent al Qaida recruiting fresh supporters.

The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) produced a 40-page document, with the aim to stop extremist ideas from emerging and circulating in schools, colleges, prisons and over the internet. It's also been stated that Britain will be mapped to find out the potential of each area to produce violent Muslim extremists.

The new strategy also includes an anti-extremist agenda to be included in the education system, from primary school to university level, as of 2008-09.
