New evidence in 1970 murder case

The murderer of 19-year old woman murdered in Liverpool 38-years ago was never caught, but new evidence has led to the case being reopened.
Lorraine Jacob went missing in September 1970 and her body was found, having been sexually assaulted and strangled.
The death of a Wigan man this month has led to the case being reopened, after a handwritten note was found in his home containing details of the murder, a gun and an item of clothing.
Also found in 78-year old Harvey Richardson's home, who died of cancer on 9th February, was an air rifle and a shoe box containing newspaper cuttings and notes related to the murder.
Police are appealing fro anyone who knew Mr Richardson to come forward. At the time of the murder, he is believed to have been kiving in Huskisson Street, Toxteth, and worked in a nearby restaurant, possibly 'The Mariners'.
