Impractical to check immigrants for criminal records

Home Affairs Minister, Martyn Quayle, has said that it would be impractical for Manx police to be informed about arrest warrants issued in other countries.
This was said in response to the fact that there is a loophole which enables criminals wanted in Europe to travel to the Isle of Man undetected. However, despite the fact that Manx police aren't routinely notified about foreign arrest warrants, this information would be brought to their attention should a given individual come into contact with the Manx police, via routine checks.
