Shadow CS anti-gun and knife week
Following the recent high profile reports of gun and knife crime amongst young people in the media, Crimestoppers' youth website www.shadowcs.co.uk for 11 – 16 year olds ran an anti-gun and knife week from Monday 30th June 2008.

Launched in October 2007, www.shadowcs.co.uk has proved a great success for the charity, attracting over a million hits from young people throughout the UK who have logged on to play its range of educational games, contributed to chat forums and sought anonymous advice about crime.
Evlambios Christophi, Shadow CS Web Assistant, said “The anti-gun and knife week on Shadow CS is a great tool to encourage young people to discuss the issue of gun and knife crime anonymously. They will be able to play our new ‘Gun Runner' game developed with the help of young people in South London, as well as our existing ‘Knife Drop' game”.
Phil Pyatt, Crimestoppers Head of Youth, said “Since Shadow CS was launched in October 2007, we have received some very sensitive anonymous emails relating to a range of crimes including guns and knives, and we have been able to provide clear advice on the best options that are available to those young people. During this week all discussions will be related to guns and knives and young people can either email us for advice through the site or if they have information about a crime or criminal activity then they can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, and someone is waiting now to take their call”.
Crimestoppers Youth Projects Team have also developed a promotional Calling Card for the week and these are available (subject to availability) by contacting the Youth Projects Team on 020 8254 3228.
