Man held over riverside murder

A 19-year-old man has been arrested following the murder of 18-year-old Asha Muneer. [20 January 2010]

The victim, from Whitley in Reading, was killed after she left work at Laura Ashley on the Brunel Retail Park. Her body was found next to the Kennet River by a jogger on Monday night. A post-mortem examination shows that she died from multiple stab wounds.

Appeal for river murder information

Detectives believe she may have been mugged but are keeping an open mind about the motive of the murder. They are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
