Five charges of child neglect

The mother and stepfather of a seven-year old girl who apparently starved to death have been charged with five counts of child neglect.

Khyra Ishaq was found dead in her Birmingham home, where she lived with her five brothers and sisters. Angela Gordon, 33, and Junaid Abuhamza, 29, were charged with 'causing or allowing' her death. They now face five joint charges of 'cruelty to a person under 16'.
