Police road traffic deaths fall

Deaths as a result of road accidents involving police have fallen by more than half over the last two years.

There were 23 such deaths in England and Wales in the last two years. The figures are at their lowest since the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) started compiling them in 2004. However, Chair of the IPCC, Nick Hardwick, has said that the figure is still 'too high'.
