Man arrested after car hits house

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a car smashed into a house. [26 July 2012]

Police and firefighters found a Vauxhall Zafira on fire outside the home in Bolton, Greater Manchester.

Three children and a woman were inside the address at the time but were not injured.

A joint investigation into the incident, which happened in Victoria Road, Horwich, shortly after 7.05am today, is being carried out by the police and fire service.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said:

"A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and taken into police custody for questioning.
