Entwistle convicted for killing his wife and baby daughter

[26 June 2008]

Brit killer Neil Entwistle was convicted by a US jury yesterday of murdering his wife and their nine-month-old daughter.

Entwistle was convicted on two counts of first degree murder for shooting his American wife Rachel, 27, and their daughter Lillian Rose at their Massachusetts home in January 2006. The jury heard how Entwistle was obsessed with sex and cheating on Rachel and also in major debt from gambling problems. The killer took the gun from his in-law's house and then returned it after the murders, but he refused to take the witness stand in court. Maintaining his innocence, Entwistle insisted that Rachel killed her daughter before committing suicide and he had just returned the gun after finding their bodies. The trial lasted for 13 days in the Middlesex County Superior Court in Woburn, Massachusetts.
