Lambeth's violent crime action plan

The London borough of Lambeth has launched a five-year action plan to help steer young people away from violent crime.

Lambeth council has said that the five-year plan is the first 'long-term comprehensive' initiative to be set up in England, as it brings together politicians, police, teachers, health workers and people from the worst affected communities. The plan will begin with increased investment in youth services run by and for local people, a specialist outreach team for hard-to-reach young people, parenting classes, and police officers in primary schools.
